Presenting lineup for new series of Robot Wars has been announced

Following on from the announcement that the BBC is bringing back Robot Wars in 2016, the presenting lineup for the new series has been revealed.

Craig Charles will not be returning, with Irish comedian Dara O Briain taking his place. Pit reporting duties will be carried out by Angela Scanlon and Jonathan Pearce will be returning as commentator.

The new series of Robot Wars will be recorded in March 2016, and is expected to air around Autumn 2016.

Robot Wars gets new series, will air on BBC 2 in late 2016

The BBC has announced that a new series of Robot Wars will be airing in 2016.

The rebooted series will feature a "bullet proof" arena. Presenting lineups have not yet been announced, however both Craig Charles and commentator Jonathan Pearce have expressed interest in returning.

Roaming Robots rebrands as Robot Wars

Live event organiser Roaming Robots has announced that from their next event at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth on the 16th and 17th of March 2013, they will be officially known as "Robot Wars" following a licensing agreement with Robot Wars LLC, the US company that controls the Robot Wars brand.

Antweight Wiki Updates

The Antweight Wiki has been updated with several new pages, including a guide to 3D printing, armour and speed controllers.

Website and Wiki Back Online!

The main website and the Antweight Wiki should now be fully back online. Everything has been offline for a couple of weeks while our webserver was rebuilt, but hopefully everything should be restored to as it was before the downtime.

As you may have noticed, this news feed doesn't get updated very often, so for more regular updates from us you can follow @teambobblebot on Twitter!

Antweight Wiki Updates

The Antweight Wiki received a major update today, including a new theme and features including user registration and profile pages. Hopefully these changes will encourage more people to edit pages and contribute useful content.

The new look Wiki is available at http://www.antweights.co.uk!

These updates are the first in a set of big updates I am planning to implement over the summer.

Robot Wars Extreme 2 on Dave, Dec. 2010

Robot Wars Extreme Series 2, first broadcast on BBC Choice in 2002, will be starting on the UK TV channel Dave on Monday the 20th of December 2010, at 3:00pm. Featuring the new House Robots Mr Physco and Growler, Extreme 2 features contestant robots fighting it out in competitions such as the New Blood Tournament, Tag Team, All Stars and Commonwealth Carnage.

Robot Wars All Day Friday on Dave

Over the next week, you will be able to catch repeats of Robot Wars Extreme Series 1 at 11am and 3pm on the TV channel Dave (and an hour later respectively on its Dave Ja Vu counterpart), with Friday hosting back to back Robot Wars episodes from mid-day until 8pm.

The episodes on offer this week include the Flipper Frenzy, House Robot Rebellion and various Tag Team and All Star battles. For a full schedule of when Robot Wars is on Dave, see Dave's Website!

Antweight Wiki Maintenance [Updated]

The Antweight Wiki will be offline for maintenance tomorrow (15th August) afternoon/evening. It will be completely unavailable while the work takes place, but should be back online fairly quickly.

This site shouldn't be affected and will remain online.

Maintenance should now be complete.
